PRAWNS FRY

  • A tempting seafood side dish – marinated prawns pan fried in pure coconut oil.
  • This dish is made with big sized prawns as they don’t shrink on frying.
  • Prawns 500 gms
  • Onion, ginger,
  • garlic - crushed 4 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder a pinch
  • Crushed curry leaves &
  • 3 green chilies
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lime juice 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - to fry
  • 1) Clean and de-vein the prawns
  • 2) Mix all the ingredients for marinating in a bowl and add the cleaned prawns to it.
  • 3) Mix well so that the marinade is evenly spread throughout the prawns. Leave it covered for an hour.
  • 4) In a wide mouthed pan, add oil. When oil is hot, add a few curry leaves first. Slowly add the marinated prawns, shallow fry both sides till golden brown in color.
  • Total cook time would be 18-20 minutes depending on how big the prawns are.
  • Yummy fried prawns are ready.
  • Serve hot.
  • This can be served as a starter or as a side dish with rice.
